We’re pleased to publish the Wilding Conifer Control Programme Health, Safety & Good Practice Charter. The charter explains how we work together to provide a safe workplace for everyone involved in conifer control.
The draft charter was released for feedback in October. We sent it to programme stakeholders, and discussed feedback with all submitters. Based on feedback, we’ve updated the document to clarify that the charter complements but does not replace any legal obligations. It outlines how we work together to meet our obligations. We’ve also expanded on our duty to consult, cooperate and coordinate activities and document these in a shared Health & Safety Management Plan.
Finally, in response to discussions on the section on Roles and Responsibilities we have removed this information from the charter in favour of instead including it in Health & Safety Management Plans.
You can read the charter here. Please share it with your team.
The Charter is a living document, we will review it annually and we welcome feedback on it. Please send your comments and suggested improvements to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the development of this document over the last few months.
