Proposed Health, Safety and Good Practice Charter

Charter Story Helicopter

October 11, 2019

Give us your feedback on the proposed Health, Safety and Good Practice Charter.

The National Wilding Conifer Control Programme involves hazardous work, often in very remote locations.

Our control work spans over 1.6 million hectares of New Zealand’s most iconic landscapes.  Much of this terrain is rugged and dangerous.  The majority of our people work in operational wilding control, including Contract or Project Managers, Operations Planners, Pilots and Helicopter Operators (including wand operators, loaders, and drivers).  We work with transporting chemicals, machine operators, and ground crew.

Ensuring our people are safe is something we take seriously

We’ve developed a Health, Safety and Good Practice Charter.  This is based on our belief that Health and Safety is not a matter of simple compliance, it’s about leadership, and protecting the wellbeing of everyone who works for and with the National Wilding Conifer Control Programme.

Have your say

We want to know what you need from the Charter:

  • Does it cover everything we need it to?
  • Is it clear and easy to understand?
  • Is it useful?
  • Will it help you and the people you work with?
  • What more would you like to see in it?

Tell us what you think.

Send us feedback by email to wilding.conifers@mpi.govt.nz

Or send feedback in hardcopy to
